Capel Grange offers full personal care and care for those with dementia. By tailoring care to your needs, we aim to avoid the need for you to move to another home if your needs increase over time. We provide for short breaks, convalescence after hospitalization, long term and day care for people of retirement age and above.

Accommodation
Capel Grange offers tastefully styled bedrooms for up to 38 people in large single and twin bedded rooms with en suite facilities and call bell systems. TV and telephone points are available in each room. The rooms, many overlooking the garden and lake with its wildlife, are on the ground and first floor level with two passenger lifts provided.

There are generous communal areas, a dining room, two sitting rooms and a conservatory, all leading to delightful patio areas.

The Cottage
In addition to the main house, the cottage wing offers delightful accommodation for up to six residents. It is linked to the main house and has its own dining room and garden room which overlooks the lake. Guests in the Cottage may also use all the facilities of the main house. The added security provided in the Cottage wing offers a safe and homely environment for those with dementia.

Security 
For safety reasons, visitors are required to sign in and out of the visitor's book. The home is protected by an up to date fire alarm system, which is regularly checked, backed up by robust Fire Safety and Health and Safety Policies. The doors are security coded and alarmed. There is an extensive secure garden fitted with tables, chairs, benches and umbrellas (in the summer) for you and your relatives, friends, or advocates to enjoy. In the summer when the weather is fine afternoon tea is served in the garden.

Special requirements  
For those with limited mobility, the modern extension offers wheelchair access from your room to communal areas.

Assisted bathing and other amenities make mobility as safe and convenient as possible for you.

All staff have been trained in the use of specialist equipment and are updated every six months on any changes in current usage and/or legislation affecting use of equipment.

Medical requirements
You may wish to continue with your own doctor, or if necessary we will help to find a local doctor for you. With the help of your GP, a tailor made care plan will be drawn up to help us understand and provide for all your needs.

Services
A full laundry service is included in the fees and the services of visiting professionals such as chiropodists, physiotherapists dentists and opticians (private and NHS) hairdressers and other community health services can be arranged.

Catering
Our dedicated catering team prepares home cooked, locally sourced traditional food and we try to cater for any prescribed or personal dietary requirements. There is a rotating 4 weekly menu, which is reviewed following regular audits by residents at least four times a year. We know how important good nutrition is for older people, so with the advice of a nutritionist, our food is not only delicious but well balanced. There is a choice at all mealtimes and for those in-between moments, home made cakes, snacks and beverages are always available.

Entertainment
There is nothing quite like the buzz of live entertainment in the home, whether it is a local musician, theatre group or school choir, we are sure you will find something that you enjoy. Excursions to local beauty spots are organised throughout the year. Birthdays, anniversaries as well as all kinds of festivities are all celebrated enthusiastically.

Keeping active
The benefits of physical activity are well known. We offer a range of activities to suit your mobility, from music and movement to walks in the grounds or even a spot of gardening. If you have a particular hobby, bring it with you. Our activities coordinator is constantly looking for new and interesting things to interest you. We have regular musical entertainment and also a Cheese and Wine afternoon every month. Summer and Christmas parties including special themed parties, local pantomimes and visits into the Community, also monthly in house religious services and weekly church services within the Tonbridge area.
