Capel Grange Residential Home is an elegant country house set beside a picturesque lake in two acres of beautiful landscaped gardens. The house provides modern spacious accommodation for up to 38 residents.

Nestling in the Kent countryside, our country home aims to provides a warm and personal service for discerning individuals. Our guests have always had high expectations and standards and see no reason for these to alter as their lifestyle changes.

Capel Grange is owned by Safequarter, the Directors are Mr and Mrs Hutchins. Mrs Zoë Hutchins has over twenty years experience in the provision of care for the elderly. Mr Miles Hutchins has an extensive background in a business environment. Staff
Our home is managed by Manager Stacey Penfold, supported by a team of qualified carers and professional administrative staff. We know the best care is achieved by a continuous commitment to training for all grades of staff. Hence we offer progressive training for all staff up to NVQ level. Additionally, the company integrate all avenues of training, from statutory training such as moving and handling to more specialised courses such as palliative and dementia care.

Client profile
Capel Grange can accommodate 38 people. We offer short breaks, convalescence, long term and day care for people of retirement age and above. We can however accommodate younger people for convalescent care. We are able to provide full personal care, with the cottage wing providing a safe and secure environment for those with dementia. Most nursing needs can be met by Community nurses who visit Capel Grange as required. In this way we aim to avoid the need for residents to move from the home, if their care needs change.

During a resident's stay at Capel Grange, staff actively encourage and promote the residents to maintain contact with their relatives, friends and advocates. There are currently two quiet lounges and two conservatories to entertain visitors should a resident prefer not to use their room. There are no restrictions on visiting hours at the care home.

Suggestions and complaints
Residents at Capel Grange are actively encouraged to participate in the resident's meetings where they can voice their opinions on a generalised basis. Questionnaires are used to help improve the quality of care and service they receive from the Home. Our complaints procedure allows more serious concerns to be dealt with immediately by management, in complete confidence.

Philosophy
Most importantly, Capel Grange places great emphasis on maintaining the privacy and dignity of its residents. Each resident has a right to respect and confidentiality in personal, medical, social or legal matters. We pride ourselves in providing the highest standards of care and hope each resident who enters Capel Grange will come to regard it as Home.

Accreditation
Capel Grange has achieved a GOOD rating by the CQC, The full report can be seen on their website: www.cqc.org.uk. It has previously achieved the Investors In People Award and achieved the Gold Star Award For Food Hygiene.

The home is a member of The National Care Association and KICA. The home is protected by robust Fire Safety and Health & Safety policies, which are regularly reviewed and updated.
